Global wind energy council's report says the installed capacity of global wind powered turbines has increased 22.5%, equivalent to 35.7 megawatt, which is mainly from the motivation of Chinese wind power development. About half of the newly increasing wind powered turbines are in China. The rise makes global wind powered turbines' total installed capacity increase from 158.7 megawatt in 2009 too 194.4 megawatt in 2010. China has replaced EU and the USA, becoming the major pusher of global wind power technique. The increasing installed capacity of Chinese wind powered turbines is 16.5 megawatt. The secretary general of China Association of Resources Comprehensive Utilization CREIA Li Junfeng points that, the Chinese present total installed capacity is 42.3 megawatt, which surpasses that of the America and is expected to reach 200 megawatt in 2020.
Meanwhile, Global wind energy council points that India, Brazil, Mexico, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia and other developing countries' wind power capacity are also increasing. The secretary general Steve Sawyer says wind power techniques are expanding out of developed countries. He hopes the technology should not only limit in Asia, but spreading to Latin America, especially Brazil and Mexico, and North African countries and Sub-Saharan African countries. Global wind energy council says that the economic crisis also influences the development of wind power market.
