Low Cost Wind Powered Turbines Come out in the USA

According to American report, the headquartered in Massachusetts Will blah Han's aerospace company FloDesign sets up a company FloDesign Wind Turbine, which has invented a new kind of Wind Powered Turbines whose cost is only half of traditional Wind Powered Turbines.

Traditional wind powered turbines can only use at most 53% of wind, because as usual, when winds go through wind powered turbines, almost half of the air are forced to stay around blades instead of going through them9 thus the energy are lost. The company learns from the design of jet engine technique, and overcomes traditional wind powered turbine's shortcomings. FloDesign covers shelters around the blades to guide air flowing through blades and quicken the blades and thus increase the power output. This design can generate almost the same quantity with traditional turbines, but the diameter of blades is half length of traditional blades. The scientists of department of mechanical engineering in MIT say it is believable that this kind of design can increase one time or twice of the power output of wind powered turbines.

Flow Design has built a small prototype of wind tunnel test, and the next step is to build a 12 feet diameter, 10 thousand watt system to spot test, and then a commercial wind powered turbine. Furthermore, the final plan of the company is to build a large wind powered turbine of 1 megawatt.
